Seattle Seahawks Sign Linebackers Leroy Hill, Matt McCoy

The Seattle Seahawks sured up their linebacking core on Thursday evening, announcing they have agreed to terms with veteran linebackers Leroy Hill and Matt McCoy. The contract details were not released, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN, although they are not expected to be big or lengthy deals.

Hill appeared in all 16 games for the Seahawks last season, recording 89 tackles and assisting on 21 others. He forced a fumble and came away with four sacks. He has been a defensive stalwart over the years for Seattle and he will continue to see plenty of playing time in 2012.

McCoy has played sparingly with various teams for the last seven years, playing with the Seahawks since 2010. In two seasons with the team, he has appeared in 18 games (four in 2011) and recorded 34 tackles. Injuries have been an issue in recent years, so counting on him for anything more than a handful of games is probably unrealistic.
