The Kobalt Tools 400 will take place at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sunday. Kasey Kahne is hoping to get something going in the 2012 Sprint Cup season, as he wrecked early in each of the first two races and now sits in 31st place overall.
Kahne will have an excellent opportunity to turn things around, as he qualified for the pole position in Sunday's race. He also participated in Saturday's Nationwide Series race and led early on. He finished the race in 10th place, which is likely a good confidence builder for him.
Fellow Washington native Greg Biffle is currently in second place in the Sprint Cup standings, just six points behind the leader, Denny Hamlin. Biffle is ninth in Sunday's starting lineup. He did not participate in Saturday's Nationwide race, which was won by Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
The race will begin at 12:08 p.m. PDT on Sunday, so hopefully you remembered to set your clocks forward. The telecast can be found on FOX. No rain is expected, which of course is nothing but good news.
