WrestleMania 28: Full Results & What Happens Next?

Sunday's WrestleMania 28 lived up to the hype and then some. One of the more solid supercards from top to bottom, the big matches all delivered and nothing was horrible, which is more than can be said of many WrestleManias. Here is the full recap of the match results and a bit of a look ahead to the future.

The WWE Tag Team Championship was successfully defended by Primo and Epico in a triple-threat match. Primo got the pinfall on Jimmy Uso to defeat the Usos and the team of Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd.

Sheamus needed just 18 seconds to win the World Heavyweight Championship from Washington's own Daniel Bryan, who was distracted after receiving a good-luck kiss from girlfriend AJ and fell prey to the Brogue Kick.

Kane defeated Randy Orton following a second-rope chokeslam.

The Big Show knocked out Cody Rhodes with a big right hand to win the Intercontinental Championship.

Kelly Kelly and Maria Menounos defeated Beth Phoenix and Eve after Menounos rolled up Phoenix for the pin.

The Undertaker finally was able to hit a Tombstone on Triple H for the pin after a 30-minute-plus Hell in a Cell match. The Undertaker is now 20-0 at WrestleMania.

John Laurinaitis' team defeated Theodore Long's team, thus making Laurinaitis the general manager of both "SmackDown!" and "Raw." The finish came after the Miz hit the Skull Crushing Finale on a distracted Zack Ryder.

CM Punk successfully defended his WWE Championship when he forced Chris Jericho to tap out with the Anaconda Vice.

In the main event, the Rock defeated John Cena when he stopped Cena in the middle of a People's Elbow attempt and delivered a Rock Bottom for the pin.

So where does WWE go from here? They are expected to announce a match for next year's WrestleMania on "Raw" on Monday night. Will it involve a Rock and Cena rematch? There are also rumors of Brock Lesnar, Batista and Lita being in Miami over the weekend. Will one -- or all three -- of the former champions make an appearance and build toward a match for next year's big event?

It seems likely that the feuds between Punk and Jericho and between Bryan and Sheamus will continue. The most evident, immediate result of WrestleMania will likely be the impact of Laurinaitis as the new WWE general manager.

WrestleMania 28 Results: The Rock Defeats John Cena By Pinfall In The Main Event

Sunday's megacard of WrestleMania 28 in Miami is finally in the books. At the end of a packed evening of pro wrestling action, the main event pitted icon against icon as John Cena faced off against The Rock. WWE billed the match as being "once in a lifetime," and both wrestlers tried their best to live up to the hype.

John Cena managed to get the upper hand in the early going, as the fight spilled to the outside of the ring. Cena dropped the Rock ribs-first across the announcer's table and then targeted the ribs and midsection of the People's Champ. The Rock made a comeback and was able to escape the Attitude Adjustment before the two combatants knocked each other down with a double-clothesline.

Cena and the Rock began exchanging blows and moves before Cena hit the Attitude Adjustment, but the Rock was able to kick out at two. The Rock recovered and hit a Rock Bottom, going on the attack. The control of the match swung back and forth before Cena locked in the STF. By the time the Rock was able to escape, both men were running on fumes but were able to counter one another's finishing moves. The Rock managed to hit the People's Elbow but it wasn't enough for the win.

The Rock dug down deep and went for a cross-body off the top rope. Cena rolled through and hit an Attitude Adjustment but, again, Rocky was able to kick out at two. Cena went for a People's Elbow of his own, but the Rock caught him mid-move with the Rock Bottom for the three-count and the win.

WrestleMania 28 Results: CM Punk Retains WWE Championship By Forcing Chris Jericho To Tap Out

In the second-to-last match at Sunday's WrestleMania 28 event, reigning champion CM Punk defended the WWE Championship against Chris Jericho.

Before the match, new WWE general manager John Lauranaitis used his authority to add a stipulation to the match: if CM Punk gets disqualified for any reason, he will lose the title. As titles normally do not change hands on a countout or disqualification, this added a wrinkle to Punk's game plan.

Early in the match, Jericho attempted to provoke Punk into getting himself disqualified, but Punk was able to keep his composure. Jericho got the upper hand in the match for a bit before both men began matching one another blow for blow. Jericho hit his finisher, the Code Breaker, but Punk rolled out of the ring. Jericho rolled him back in and Punk his is own finisher, the GTS, but Jericho was able to get his foot on the ropes to break the pinfall.

Punk was later able to escape from a Walls of Jericho submission attempt and another Code Breaker. Punk went for a GTS, but Jericho was able to reverse it into another Walls of Jericho. Punk rolled Jericho up and then cinched on the Anaconda Vice. Jericho managed to escape the hold but Punk sunk in the Anaconda Vice once again and Jericho was forced to tap, giving Punk the win.

WrestleMania 28 Results: Team Johnny Defeats Team Teddy

Sunday's WrestleMania 28 in Miami has seen no shortage of action and there are still the two main events yet to come. The sixth match on the main card featured Raw GM John Laurinaitis' team going up against SmackDown! GM Teddy Long's team in a 12-man tag team match to determine who will be the general manager of both shows going forward.

Team Johnny consisted of captain David Otunga, Mark Henry, Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger, The Miz and Drew McIntyre, while Team Teddy was comprised of captain Santino Marella, Kofi Kingston, R-Truth, Booker T, the Great Khali and Zack Ryder.

The match featured a good amount of standard tag team back-and-forth action before breaking down into a free-for-all, with even Team Teddy mascot Hornswoggle and both teams' valets getting involved. santino Marella was finally tagged in and delivered the saluting headbutt and the Cobra to the Miz, but Dolph Ziggler was able to break up the pin. Zack Ryder looked to be on the verge of getting the win, but was distracted by his girlfriend Eve, allowing Miz to hit the Skull Crushing Finale and give Team Johnny the win.

WrestleMania 28 Results: Undertaker Defeats Triple H In Hell In A Cell, Now 20-0 At WrestleMania

WrestleMania 28 keeps on rolling on Sunday in Miami. Prior to the fifth match on the main card, it was announced that the crowd of 78,323 was a new attendance record for Sun Life Stadium. Jim Ross then came out to the announcer booth to call the next bout, the eagerly anticipated Hell in a Cell rematch between the Undertaker and Triple H.

The Undertaker came into the match boasting an unprecedented 19-0 winning streak at WrestleMania. Undertaker unveiled a new look, with a closely shorn head and short mohawk. The two men engaged in a lengthy and brutal match that included both combatants battering one another with steel ring steps and chairs.

Triple H kept battering the Undertaker with chair shots repeatedly, trying to either get Undertaker to surrender or get special guest referee Shawn Michaels to end the match. Undertaker would not quit, however, even after being hit with a sledgehammer. The Undertaker choked out Michaels with the Hell's Gate submission hold and choked out Triple H with the same move. A second referee came to the ring, but Triple H was able to kick out of a chokeslam. The Undertaker then chokeslammed the second referee in frustration.

Shawn Michaels came to and hit Undertaker with Sweet Chin Music, which Triple H followed up with a Pedigree, but Undertaker still kicked out at two. The Undertaker roared back to life with a flurry of offense before hitting Triple H with the Tombstone piledriver, but Triple H kicked out. The two men slugged it out and Triple H hit another Pedigree, but it was not enough to put the Dead Man away.

Triple H went for the sledgehammer again, but Undertaker blocked it and hit Triple H with repeated chair shots in a bit of comeuppance for the earlier beating at the hands of the WWE COO. Still, Triple H would not stay down. Triple H made one last lunge with the sledgehammer, but Undertaker blocked it and hit Triple H with his own signature weapon. Undertaker finally hit Triple H with one last tombstone to win the match and go to 20-0 at WrestleMania.

WrestleMania 28 Results: Maria Menounos & Kelly Kelly Defeat Beth Phoenix & Eve

The fourth match on Sunday's WrestleMania 28 main card was a Divas tag team match featuring the team of Kelly Kelly and Maria Menounos (host of "Extra") taking on the team of Divas champion Beth Phoenix and Eve.

Phoenix and Eve took control of the match early on and took turns wearing down Menounos. Menounos finally managed to make the tag and Kelly took over. Kelly hit a somersault off the top rope onto Phoenix and was about to get the win when Eve broke up the pin. Kelly managed to reverse a Glam Slam attempt by Phoenix and make the tag. Menounos was able to roll up Phoenix for the pinfall and the win.

WrestleMania 28 Results: The Big Show Wins Intercontinental Championship From Cody Rhodes

The third match on the main card of WrestleMania 28 was for the Intercontinental Championship. Defending champion Cody Rhodes has been taunting the Big Show for over a month about how "The World's Largest Athlete" has had only embarrassing WrestleMania moments and the Big Show was determined to make Rhodes pay for repeatedly humiliating him.

Big Show opened the match by tossing Rhodes around and battering him from pillar to post, as should be expected from someone who outweighs Rhodes by over 200 pounds. Rhodes got the upper hand for a short time, but the Big Show landed a huge right hand to win his first Intercontinental Championship in his own WrestleMania moment.

WrestleMania 28 Results: Kane Defeats Randy Orton

WrestleMania 28 is underway in Miami. The second match on the main card featured Randy Orton going up against "The Big Red Monster" Kane. Since returning from an injury last month, Orton has been on a collision course with Kane.

The two former multi-time world champions had a very physical match, as expected. Kane set the tone of much of the match, wearing down his opponent while Orton attempted several comebacks. Kane appeared to be on the verge of winning after dodging a soccer kick and hitting a choke slam, but Orton kicked out after a count of two. Orton set Kane up for an RKO off the turnbuckles, but Kane hit a second-rope chokeslam for the win.

WrestleMania 28 Results: Sheamus Defeats Daniel Bryan To Become New World Heavyweight Champion

The opening match of the main card at WrestleMania 28 on Sunday was for the World Heavyweight Championship. Aberdeen's own Daniel Bryan defended his title against the 2012 Royal Rumble winner, the Irish warrior Sheamus.

The match was over before it began, as Bryan turned around to get a good-luck kiss from his girlfriend, AJ. He turned back to Sheamus and was hit with a huge Brogue Kick and covered for the pin, making Sheamus the new World Heavyweight Champion. Official time of the match was 18 seconds.

Bryan had tons of vocal supporters in the crowd, which should make his fellow Washingtonians very proud.

WWE WrestleMania 2012 Results, Updated Live From Sun Life Stadium

WrestleMania 28 is officially underway. The first match from Sunday's annual event is already in the books, even if it's not officially part of the main show.

In a special free match that aired live on WWE.com and YouTube, the WWE Tag Team Championship was defended in a triple threat match. Champions Primo and Epico defended the belts against the Usos and the new tandem of Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd.

After a short, fun, fast-paced match with plenty of high flying, Epico hit a back cracker on one of the Usos to steal the pin and retain the tag titles. The match went about 10 minutes and was a good showcase for all six guys, especially the Usos.

WrestleMania 28: Brock Lesnar Reportedly In Miami, Rumored To Have Signed 1-Year Deal With WWE

If there's one thing that WWE loves to do at WrestleMania, it is to provide a huge surprise. Originally reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, rumors are swirling that former UFC Heavyweight Champion and former WWE Undisputed Champion Brock Lesnar has arrived in Miami.

Meltzer's original report (log-in required) contained mention that Lesnar may have signed a one-year contract with WWE.

Brock Lesnar has arrived in Miami and arrived with security and a large group of people shielding him from everyone. This is the going story, but not confirmed, that Lesnar has signed a one year deal ...

There are also rumors that former champion Batista is also in Miami, after nearly two years away from the company.

If Lesnar does indeed appear on the show, you can expect the (figurative) roof to be blown off of Sun Life Stadium. Lesnar's last appearance for the company was at WrestleMania 20 in Madison Square Garden, where he lost a bizarre match against Goldberg to a chorus of boos and jeers before departing the WWE for an ill-fated attempt at an NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings.

This new bout will be a Triple Threat Match for the WWE Tag Team Titles. Champions Primo and Epico will take on The Usos and new team Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd. It's a great throwback to the days of the pre-PPV "Free For All" matches and a fantastic way for WWE to use new media platforms.

The match will begin streaming on WWE.com and YouTube at 3:30 p.m. PT. The pay-per-view itself will begin at 4:00 p.m. PT, although the purchase of the PPV gets you a full 10 hours of WWE content that begins at 2:00 p,m,, which is a nice bonus.
