Seahawks vs. Vikings: Seattle builds lead, up 27-20 after 3rd quarter

The Seattle Seahawks have built on their lead and have a 27-20 advantage over the Minnesota Vikings after three quarters. A Marshawn Lynch touchdown run put them 10 points up before a field goal late in the quarter made it a one-score game again.

The Seahawks' seven-point lead after the first quarter was cut down to 20-17 at halftime, but Lynch made sure that Seattle would stretch that out a bit more. He found the end zone from three yards out to cap a nine-play, 72-yard drive and give the Seahawks a 27-17 lead.

Lynch has had a monster day, racking up 101 yards on 16 carries to lead Seattle. He's gotten plenty of help from Russell Wilson, too, who has completed 12 of 18 passes for 115 yards and three touchdowns.

But Lynch's day is being dwarfed by Adrian Peterson, who has 170 yards on 16 carries. That has made up for Christian Ponder's awful day. He is 10-for-17 for 58 yards.

The Vikings got back within one score on their last drive of the quarter. Blair Walsh nailed a 55-yard field goal, but there was some controversy. Replays showed that the play clock expired before Minnesota got the snap off on the kick and while Pete Carroll yelled at the referees, it did no good.
