The Ducks are having little trouble with the lowly Colorado Buffaloes Saturday afternoon, as Oregon leads 56-0 at halftime. UO jumped out to a 28-0 lead in the first quarter, and piled on in the second.
Oregon opened the quarter with a 97-yard touchdown drive that took just 2:13 of game time. Marcus Mariota hit Josh Huff for three straight first downs to put the Ducks deep into Colorado territory, and Kenjon Barner finished the drive off with a touchdown run. Barner has already topped 100 yards rushing for the game.
It didn't take long for the Ducks to add to their lead again. De'Anthony Thomas made a spectacular play, reversing field and cutting back to take a punt return 73 yards for a score after Colorado's next possession to put UO up, 42-0.
The next Ducks drive was likely the last for their starters, as Mariota connected with Daryle Hawkins on a 7-yard strike to extend the lead further. Bryan Bennett would relieve Mariota after that, and lead Oregon down the field for another touchdown. Bennett capped off the drive himself with a 5-yard touchdown run just before halftime.
