With only one game remaining in the regular season, the Seattle Sounders continue to make a case for a high seed in the postseason. The Sounders topped FC Dallas 3-1 on Sunday night to move into a second-place tie with Real Salt Lake in the Western Conference.
Seattle (56 points, 15-7-11 record) received two goals from Brad Evans, including the go-ahead score in the 60th minute.
On the flip side, the loss eliminates FC Dallas (38 points, 9-13-11 record) from playoff contention and secures the fifth and final spot for the Vancouver Whitecaps (42 points, 11-13-9 record).
The second and third seed are the last spots undecided with the San Jose Earthquakes (65 points, 19-6-8 record) sitting in first place and the Los Angeles Galaxy (51 points, 15-12-6 record) in fourth place.
The Sounders wrap up the regular season against the Galaxy on the road next Sunday, while Real Salt Lake tangles with the Whitecaps at home on Saturday.
