Seattle Seahawks defensive end Cortez Kennedy will have his #96 jersey retired during a special halftime ceremony.

Seattle Seahawks great Cortez Kennedy will be honored at this Sunday's contest against the New England Patriots. The Seahawks will retire his #96 jersey at a halftime ceremony at CenturyLink Field.

Kennedy was drafted with the third overall pick in the 1990 NFL Draft out of the University of Miami. He played a decade in the league from 1990 to 2000 and officially retired in 2002. Kennedy spent his entire career with the Seahawks.

If you're considering names that would best fit the label "greatest Seahawk of all time", Kennedy would make the shortlist. Kennedy made the Pro Bowl eight times in his career, was the 1992 NFL Defensive Player of the Year in a season the Seahawks finished 2-14 and was selected as an All-Pro on four occasions. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this season and is already a member of the Seahawks' Ring of Honor.
