Washington St. vs. Colorado Final Score: Cougars Unable To Pull Road Upset Against Buffaloes

The Washington State Cougars were less than 48 hours removed from a tough overtime loss to Utah and the team showed the effects on Saturday afternoon as they fell to the Colorado Buffaloes. The Cougars hung in for most of the game, but a big game from Carlon Brown was simply too much to overcome. WSU fell 71-60 as their record in Pac-12 play drops to 1-3.

Reggie Moore led the way for Washington State with 14 points and did a nice job distributing the ball with four assists and no turnovers. Faisal Aden added 12 points, while Brock Motum scored nine. The Cougars did not shoot the ball particularly well, making just 36.5% of their field goal attempts (19-for-52).

As afore mentioned, Carlon Brown played an incredible game and led the way with 28 points. The senior guard hit six 3-pointers and even brought down seven rebounds. Austin Dufault scored 17 points, while Nate Tomlinson had 11.

The Cougars will have an entire week off to rest both physically and mentally before traveling to take on the Washington Huskies on Sunday, January 15

Washington State Vs. Utah Final Score: Cougars Drop 62-60 Overtime Loss

The Washington St. Cougars visited the Utah Utes on Thursday night in search of their second Pac-12 win. Some timely scores by Utah forced the game into overtime and the end result was the second Pac-12 loss for the Cougars.

Utah jumped out to a 29-23 lead at halftime, but the Cougars were able to surge back and take a 52-46 lead with just 3:39 remaining in regulation. The Utes surged back, however, closing the distance to 54-52 at 2:07. WSU was able to hold them off until Josh Watkins sank a jumper at 0:18 to knot the game at 54-54 and force an overtime period.

Again, Washington State held a slim lead into the final minute, as a DaVonte Lacy free throw put the Cougars up 60-58 with 1:05 remaining. Chris Hines of the Utes hit a jumper to tie it with 0:45 left, before Watkins once again got to play the hero, putting up a jumper with just three second left to seal the 62-60 Utah win. The Utes are now 1-1 in Pac-12 play despite their miserable overall record of 4-10.

Brock Motum of Washington State led all scorers with 27 points, also recording eight rebounds and three assists. The only other member of the Cougars to record double digits was guard Faisal Aden, who picked up 11 points.

Washington State Vs. Utah Preview: Tipoff Time, Radio Coverage, Streaming Info, and More

The Washington State Cougars are fresh off their victory over the Oregon State Beavers, and now head to Salt Lake City to take on their newest Pac-12 rivals, the Utah Utes.

Washington State (9-5, 1-1) is 2-13 in the all time series with Utah (3-10, 0-1), along with a 1-10 record on the road against them, though they may have something to say about that. These two haven't faced off since 2006. This will be the only the fourth road game the Cougs have had this season, but hopefully can make the most of their visit against the struggling Utes.

Look for Brock Motem to have a big game against Utah, scoring 26 points in his last time out, only one point shy of his career high.
