Washington Huskies Struggle Against Seattle Redhawks, Come Away With 91-83 Victory

The Washington Huskies took a quick break from conference play on Tuesday night to face the Seattle Redhawks and nearly blew what should have been an easy victory. Fortunately for Washington, the team hit enough shots down the stretch to hold off Seattle and come away with a 91-83 victory. The UW improved to 10-6 on the season with the win, while the Redhawks dropped to 3-11.

C.J. Wilcox led the way with 25 points and hit four of his seven attempts from behind the arc, all while bringing down five rebounds. Freshman point guard Tony Wroten scored 24 points, although quite a few of those (12, to be exact) came down the stretch at the free throw line as Seattle attempted to keep the game close. Wroten also had six turnovers. Aziz N'Diaye recorded a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds, while Terrance Ross scored 12.

The Redhawks simply would not go away on Tuesday night and even outscored Washington in the second half. Aaron Broussard had 20 points and 10 rebounds, as Sterling Carter ended with 15 and eight. Clarence Trent added nine points of his own, while Cervant Burrell and Jarell Flora each contributed eight.

Washington will now have a few days off to learn from their mistakes on Tuesday before resuming Pac-12 play. The team will host the Washington St. Cougars on Sunday.
