2012 Rose Bowl: Four Fun Facts About The Wisconsin Badgers

Over at Addicted to Quack, SB Nation's Oregon Blog, David Piper highlighted four things about the Wisconsin Badgers that you may or may not know heading into their matchup with Oregon in the 2012 Rose Bowl.

1) The Badgers Struggle With Special Teams

The dominant Badgers offense has covered up a lot of their other shortcomings, but their special teams is by far their most glaring area of need. They've had problems with drops, bad coverage, and long returns, which may leave them open to some Oregon playmakers.

2) The Badgers have more than Montee Ball

The Badgers have two other very capable backs in John Clay and James White. White has gained around 600 yards along with six touchdown this season in limited play, but is still comparable to other starting backs in the Big Ten. Clay is also a danger as well, and coupled with the Dangerous Ball, makes a trio of issues on the ground for the Ducks.

3) Keep Russell Wilson in the Pocket

Russell has gashed defenses for a 72% completion percentage, 31 touchdowns, 2800 yards passing and only three interceptions. A lot of that damage has been done out of the pocket as well. The Ducks will have to be very disciplined to keep him in check and hopefully inside the pocket to hopefully limit the damage done.

4) The Badgers are Scary in the Red Zone

The Badgers have a 96% red zone scoring percentage (67/70 attempts) in both field goals and touchdowns. Enough said.
