As Brian Floyd wrote previously, there weren't a whole lot of upsets on Day 1 of the 2011 women's NCAA tournament and even those outcomes that might not have been considered upsets aside from seeding differentials.
10-seeds Marist and Temple were considered likely candidates to get an upset win in the first round as was 11-seed Gonzaga in winning at home in Spokane.
Today could see more unlikely upsets in the Dallas region from teams like 10-seed Louisiana Tech against 7-seed Rutgers or 14-seed Samford against 3-seed Florida State or maybe 11-seed James Madison could upset 6-seed Oklahoma. Or could 12-seed Princeton could find a way to out-execute 5-seed Georgetown? Any of those might be considered more surprising upsets, but otherwise this could be rather uneventful.
