The Pac-10 is well-represented in the latest NIT bracketology projections, with three teams in the top-half of the rankings. Washington State, California and USC are all listed as “in” the field, with USC holding an outside shot at an NCAA Tournament bid. With a top-half seed comes the chance to host a game as the NIT field battles for a trip to Madison Square Garden.
In the latest NIT-ology projections, the Washington State Cougars are a No. 2 seed along with UAB, Colorado State and Cleveland State. USC, on the bubble of the NCAA Tournament, is a No. 1 seed, joining Boston College, Georgia and Missouri State. The one-seeds are right on the bubble with a shot at the NCAA Tournament still possible, depending on how the field shakes out.
California is also a top-half seed, coming in on the No. 4 line. The Bears are joined by Miami, Minnesota and Marshall. The Bears, Cougars and Trojans are the only three Pac-10 teams in the NIT, with three other teams — Washington, Arizona and UCLA — listed as “in” the NCAA Tournament field.
