The Oregon Ducks are set to face the Wisconsin badgers in the 2012 Rose Bowl. The teams seem evenly matched on paper, but Oregon's speed may be the edge.
The 2012 Rose Bowl will pit two fairly evenly-matched Top Ten teams against one another as the Oregon Ducks will face the Wisconsin Badgers on January 2nd, 2012 in Pasadena.
The No. 6 Oregon Ducks were able to fulfill expectations of a 2011 Pac-12 championship, as they finished the season win an overall record of 11-2 and went 8-1 in conference play. They secured their ticket to the Rose Bowl with a decisive win over the UCLA Bruins in the inaugural Pac-12 Championship Game.
Likewise, No. 9 Wisconsin had a dominant season themselves. The Badgers also finished 11-2, taking the Leaders Division in the Big Ten while finishing 7-2 within the conference. They knocked off Michigan State in the Big Ten Championship Game, winning 42-39 to take home their second straight conference championship.
The Oregon Ducks offense will hope to continue their dominant performance in 2011. Led by quarterback Darron Thomas and superstar running back LaMichael James, the raw speed of the Ducks has been difficult -- at time impossible -- for opponents to contain. They'll be looking to make yet another big statement game at the most well-known bowl game in college football in just under a month.
