Russell Okung Injury: Seahawks LT Has "Extensive Damage" to Pectoral

Stay connected for news and updates

Seahawks left tackle Russell Okung suffered an injury to his pectoral muscle on what looked to be a late, seemingly cheap, play by Eagles defensive end Trent Cole on the 2nd to last play of the game. You be the judge:

Regardless, Pete Carroll noted today in his afternoon presser that Okung has "extensive damage" to his pectoral, but the Seahawks won't know the exact nature of the injury or how much time he might miss until MRI results come back this afternoon. Carroll mentioned that he expects the league will look into the incident and intimated that a fine or suspension should be forthcoming for Cole.

On the day that Ndamukong Suh's two-game suspension was upheld by the league for his stomping incident on Thanksgiving Day, it seems like this little maneuver by Cole deserves some sort of recourse from the league, especially considering Okung may in fact miss the rest of the season.

Obviously, that would be tough for Okung and the Seahawks, but it's clear he'll do as much as he can to stay in there. On the Pete Carroll show this morning, Carroll mentioned that the big LT text messaged him late last night that "If you I.R. me, I'll mess you up."
