Sean Mannion Paces Oregon State To Crucial Victory Over Washington State In Seattle

The Oregon St. Beavers could not be stopped on offense. They rolled over the Washington St. Cougars 44-21 in one of their most dominant efforts of the season, piling on 551 yards of offense, 28 first downs, a two-thirds third down conversion rate, and putting up nearly 8 yards per play.

Sean Mannion racked up 376 passing yards at an impressive 76.5% completion rate, throwing four touchdowns as well. Mannion spread the ball out to eleven receivers, primarily targeting Markus Wheaton (five catches for 100 yards), Brandin Cooks (three catches for 70 yards and a TD), Jordan Jenkins (two catches for 46 yards and a TD), Joe Halahuni (three catches, 41 yards, TD), James Rodgers (four catches, 38 yards) and Terron Ward (four catches, 23 yards). Malcolm Agnew piled on 104 rushing yards and another score as Oregon State totally shredded Washington State's defense. The win keeps OSU's slim hopes alive for a .500 or better winning record.

Jeff Tuel was also playing well against Oregon State's defense before he was forced to leave the game with an injury. Marshall Lobbestael was far less effective, completing only half his passes and throwing a pick as well. Washington State has fallen under .500 for the first time this season.
