Yesterday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Julius Jones would be a late casualty of roster cuts, with a move coming as soon as today. In the wake of that report, Jones restructured his contract and took a pay cut, saving his job with the Seahawks.
Schefter confirmed today that Jones will indeed be on the final 53-man roster because of his willingness to take less money.
Seahawks RB Julius Jones saved his job by taking a paycut. The plan, which multiple people confirmed, was to cut him. Paycut saved job.
It's clear the Seahawks are looking to get money off the books after releasing T.J. Houshmandzadeh and eating more than $6 million because of it. Luckily for Jones, he's still employed, albeit at a much lower salary.
