Indians Hold Off Mariners, 4-2, In Seattle Saturday Night

Seattle, WA (Sports Network) – Mitch Talbot pitched into the seventh inning and won for the first time since late June, as the Indians held off the Seattle Mariners, 4-2, in the third installment of a four-game series.

Talbot (9-11), who had lost his last five decisions over his previous nine starts, posted his first victory since June 27 at Cincinnati. He allowed five hits, an unearned run with a walk and six strikeouts over 6 2/3 frames.

Michael Brantley and Shin-Soo Choo each had two hits and an RBI for the Indians, who have won seven of their last eight at Safeco Field.

Chris Perez got the Indians out of a jam in the eighth and picked up his 18th save.

David Pauley (2-7) dropped his third consecutive start as he gave up seven hits and four runs in six innings.
