The WNBA announced this morning that Seattle Storm center Lauren Jackson has been named First Team All-WNBA and that point guard Sue Bird was named to the Second Team.
Although the selections are made by position, Bird came within two votes of Chicago Sky center Sylvia Fowles and could conceviably have made the First Team had she garnered more votes if Jackson was considered a center and Phoenix Mercury guard Diana Taurasi was named a forward.
It was Jackson's seventh First Team selection, which is no surprise given that she already won MVP this year.
Atlanta Dream forward Angel McCoughtry, the Storm's opponent in the WNBA Finals, was named to the Second Team.
