King5.com is reporting that the Seattle Mariners will fire their scouting director as part of the fallout from the team’s handling of pitching prospect Josh Lueke, who plead no contest after being involved in a sexual assault incident.
A source close to the Mariners organization tells the KING 5 Sports department that M’s Professional Scouting Director Carmen Fusco was told he will not return next year.
This reportedly comes because of the way the Mariners handled the Cliff Lee trade when they picked up pitcher Josh Lueke in the deal.
The controversial trade drew media criticism that led Seattle Mariners CEO Howard Lincoln to pen a ridiculous anti-media email that was leaked to the public.
