Seattle Sounders forward Fredy Montero has been named MLS Player of the Week for Week 22.
Montero bagged a brace against the Chicago Fire on Saturday night, adding two more goals to his total and taking him to ten on the year. He scored his first goal in the 36th minute, in answer to the Fire’s converted soft penalty, but supporters had an anxious 55 minutes ahead of them before Montero headed in the winner in the 92nd minute.
Montero was also named MLS Player of the Month in July.
